My typical day at Glasallt by Ali

I go to arts & crafts where we do lots of different things like weavery and making cards.

I also go to work in a soap factory in Llangadog. In the evenings if not going out I relax listening to music or watching a film.

Glasallt Fawr ⎸ A Typical day

Morning

Every morning, the residents  come together to start their day with a hearty breakfast, setting the tone for another meaningful and fulfilling day. Following breakfast, we gather for our Morning Circle, a cherished routine that allows us to plan the day ahead. During this time, we discuss each individual’s activities, outings, and the dedicated support staff accompanying them. Our home follows a Christian structure, so this morning assembly often includes moments of reflection, with prayers, readings from the Bible, or the sharing of inspiring poems to nurture the spirit.

With our day’s plans in place, we embark on our morning activities and work experiences, fully supported by our dedicated staff members. The morning is a time of growth, learning, and development for all.

As noon approaches, we return to the comfort of our home for a nourishing lunch, where laughter and camaraderie are always on the menu.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, we continue to engage in activities or work experiences tailored to each individual’s interests and needs. This structured approach ensures that everyone’s unique journey is honored and respected.

After this enriching afternoon, we enjoy some well-deserved free time, allowing for relaxation and personal pursuits before coming together as a household for a delightful evening meal. Our communal dinners provide opportunities for bonding and sharing the day’s adventures.

Evening

Following dinner, the evening unfolds with an array of social activities that cater to diverse interests. Whether it’s a night out at a local disco, a visit to a cozy pub, a cinematic experience with a film night, or friendly competition in a ball game, every evening is an opportunity to create lasting memories.

Weekends

On weekends, we adopt a more relaxed approach to our schedule, prioritizing social interactions and personal experiences. Saturdays are dedicated to personal shopping time, where residents have the freedom to visit shops and purchase items they need, fostering independence and decision-making skills. Our weekend social activities may include trips to the beach, country walks, or other excursions that allow us to embrace the beauty our surroundings.

At our residential home for individuals with learning disabilities, every day is a unique chapter in the shared story of growth, companionship, and empowerment. We look forward to creating a vibrant and supportive community that cherishes every moment together.
